Bernard is pop singer with a strong penchant for R&B and Soul.  Two years ago, Bernard was a Top 5 finalist for the David Foster Foundation Star Search and has since been actively songwriting and teaching voice lessons for some of Edmonton’s up and coming stars. Other accomplishments include being a Wildcard competitor of the 2004 season of Canadian Idol.  

Bernard has been active in the community lending his time and voice to many charities including the Stollery Children’s Hospital, The Kidney Foundation, and even wrote the 2009 theme song for the St. Valentine’s Day Hair Massacure entiltled, “Reach Out”.  

Although Mr. Quilala finds his work as a Registered Nurse deeply fulfilling, he one day hopes to retire into a career as a singer/songwriter. If that doesn’t happen, Bernard rests assured that his 8-month baby boy will keep him busy.
